BRIC is Drift Chamber Branch Readout Controller. Works with BRICBOX and PCOS-II readout modules.

BRIC firmware is combined with FVME controller and mechanically is one VME module.

BRIC utilize two gigabit serial links for BRICBOX connection.

BRICBOX Control/Data format

Reset frame: IDLE, CE, CE, CE, CE, CE, IDLE (M-Link reset)

Trigger and readout request frames: IDLE, CE, CE, CE, ND, ND, IDLE (M-Link LCF)

Control frame: IDLE, CE, ND (10 times), IDLE (M-Link data)

Trigger and readout requests are transmitted by toggling LCF bits ?? and ?? respectively.

BRICBOX Control frame is sent by writing BRIC Settings register. Frame data is 32 bit register contents.
