ROC48 is the 48-channel Time to Digital Converter (TDC) read-out card with VME interface. It is designed for micromegas KABES particle detector in NA48 experiment in CERN. ROC48 is capable of Time-Over-Threshold (TOT) signal analysis that allows acquisition of time and amplitude information from input signal. Time-Of-Flight, particle coordinates and energy output in the detector are measured.
The data read-out is performed with VME64x P1 2eSST at 160 MB/s continuous speed. To achieve very high channel hit rate we used two HPTDC chips to digitize every 16 channel block of ROC48 module thus increased peak hit rate by the factor of four. ROC48 board has VME64x geographical address capability for automatic system configuration.
